Songwriter Trio led by Tom Catmul September 10th

Tom Catmul leads another snogwriter circle.  His choices have been excellent so far……

.Quenby Iandiorio was introduced tothe Country/Americana scene during hertime in LA from `97-`09. But after years of enjoying her friends from out front, she
decided it was time to have a go at it from up on stage. Late in `07 she picked up
the guitar in earnest which was followed very quickly by recording her first song
and shortly after by compiling her first band.  By `09, Q's desire to take the band
all the way made a move to Texas inevitable, so she and original drummer, Clint
Short (Shurman, Stonehoney, Weldon Henson), pulled up stakes and relocated to
Austin.
Since then she has made many successful tours of the Northern and Northwestern
U.S. resulting in her latest move to Livingston, MT from where she books and
maintains a full-time performing and touring schedule with a stable of talented
local musicians.
For Jeff Plankenhorn, there's nothing quite like the feeling of bringing people
together to experience the joy music brings. He's so good at it that he's been
recognized with Austin Music Award nominations for Musician of the Year, Best
Guitarist, and Best Misc. In 2016-2017, he also earned Album and Song of the
Year nominations for his album, SoulSlide, and the single "Trouble Find Me.". "I
like the idea that people get uplifted at my shows; there are many ways to escape
the hubbub of day-to-day living. Dancing is one of the more noble and effective,
better than any drug I've tried. I like the idea that everybody who walks in — I
don't care if you're a biker or a drag queen — I want you there. Music is supposed
to bring people together." His music does exactly that — whether people come to
listen or do a little dancing. Or ideally, both.
Tom Catmull is a word enthusiast. They are the larger part of what makes his
world go round. He’s spent the last twenty-five years in his adopted hometown of
Missoula, MT presenting words in ways to make them as alluring as possible to
people who crave such things. The last couple of decades have included seven full
length albums, a few television appearances (Montana PBS 11 th and Grant), a
hundred theaters performances (The Wilma, The Rex, The Roxy, The Dennison,
etc), dozens of festivals, countless honkytonks and two ridiculously fun national
anthems. He’s been the supporting act for Robert Earl Keen, Charlie Musselwhite,
Junior Brown, Asleep at the Wheel and a dozen others.

Release the Squirrels September 13, 2024

A new band of seasoned players.  Come and check them out.

Release the Squirrels is a shiny new bluegrass quintet, pushing the boundaries of the traditional bluegrass cage.  Hailing from the valleys of Western Montana, the five group members each bring a unique perspective to the band, creating a cohesive and dynamic voice.  From danceable old-time original compositions to artful covers of modern songs, the Squirrels have a broad repertoire that appeals to every audience.

With a deep appreciation for bluegrass traditions, influences like Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Album Band are present, however the group has a penchant for crafting bold arrangements to pay tribute to the past with a modern flavor.  The depth of their musicianship is evidenced by masterful flatpicking, hard driving banjo, and rock steady upright bass.  Listeners also delight to hear hypnotizing fiddle melodies and inspired mandolin licks interspersed amongst a tapestry of three-part vocal harmonies.

The Squirrels might be spotted rattling cages at Bluegrass Festivals, mountain venues, breweries, and private events across Montana and around the regio

North Fork Crossing September 18, 2024

A new and skilled young band from Bozeman.

Founded in early 2021, North Fork Crossing has quickly made their presence known all around Montana, and most notably in the beautiful Gallatin Valley where they live. The quintet – Cade Slayden (guitar), Ryan Kelly (mandolin), Rabi Phelan (upright bass), Silas Rea (fiddle), and Matt Hickey (banjo) – are drawn to having Bluegrass reach a younger generation, priding themselves on their unique sound as “the evolution of string band music”.

By playing many shows in Montana as well as touring across Idaho, Utah, and Colorado, they have been able to grow their audience to a wide range of listeners – consisting of Traditional Bluegrass lovers to die hard Jam-Band enthusiasts. Their genre resides somewhere in a strange untapped realm between these genres as well as Psychedelic Rock, Americana, and Folk.

North Fork Crossing has just recently released their debut, self-titled album. North Fork Crossing (2024) explores the Bozeman bands origins, consisting of songs that have been played live since the bands inception. This includes original fiddle tunes, high paced exploratory bluegrass, and ballads focused on songwriting and precision. Although they are known for their live performances, the album is a well rounded and powerful introduction to the bands studio work.
